What is a management system? A system is quite simply the way in which a company organises itself to meet the needs and expectations of its customers, staff, investors, authorities, etc. All the people who expect something from the company are called interested parties or stakeholders.

Every company has a management system by default, because it is organised in a certain way. However, its management system may be more or less effective, more or less efficient, more or less agile from one company to another.

If a company wants to be more efficient, if it wants to improve its internal organisation, it can use - if it so wishes - guides that collect best practices and tips for organising its internal operations. These guides include standards, the best known of which are the ISO standards.
