MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS.
What is a management system? A system is quite simply the way in which a company organises itself to meet the needs and expectations of its customers, staff, investors, authorities, etc. All the people who expect something from the company are called interested parties or stakeholders.
Every company has a management system by default, because it is organised in a certain way. However, its management system may be more or less effective, more or less efficient, more or less agile from one company to another.
If a company wants to be more efficient, if it wants to improve its internal organisation, it can use - if it so wishes - guides that collect best practices and tips for organising its internal operations. These guides include standards, the best known of which are the ISO standards.
Here are some of the best-known ISO standards:
- The standard ISO - ISO 9001:2015 - Quality management systems - Requirements is a guide to help companies improve the quality of their products and/or services.
- The standard ISO - ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental management systems - Requirements and guidance for use is a guide to help companies identify and reduce their impact on the environment.
- The standard ISO - ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational health and safety management systems - Requirements and guidance for use is a guide to help organisations protect the health and safety of their staff, suppliers and customers.
- The standard ISO - ISO/IEC 27001:2013 - Information technology - Security techniques - Information security management systems - Requirements is a guide to help organisations ensure information security.
- The standard ISO - ISO 26000:2010 - Guidance on social responsibility is a guide to help organisations implement a socially responsible, sustainable development approach.
